The problem

A finished shoot can run to dozens of gigabytes. Uploading it takes hours, transfer services limit size and delete files after a few days, and cloud storage bills grow with every job. With ordner.link the gallery stays in its folder and clients open it directly.

Why it works

No upload wait
The gallery is already in its folder, so you share it the moment editing is done instead of waiting hours for an upload to finish.
A clean first impression
Clients get one tidy link and browse the shoot in their browser. They can pick favourites or download everything as ZIP.
Costs don't grow per job
Nothing is stored in a cloud, so a bigger wedding doesn't mean a bigger bill, and you choose how long the link stays open.

How to set it up

  1. Right-click the delivery folder in Finder and choose Share with ordner.link.

  2. Keep only View ticked, set Who can open it to Anyone so clients get in even when you are away, and set Link expires to give them enough time. Add a password if you like.

  3. Send the link. Clients preview photos in the browser and download favourites or everything as ZIP.

What to keep in mind

Your Mac must be awake and online while clients view or download. Browsers can't preview camera RAW files, so put JPEGs in the folder for viewing. Previews go up to 50 MB per image and 100 MB per video (half that on phones). Larger files and RAWs can still be downloaded, though some private browser windows limit that to 500 MB (100 MB on phones and tablets).

Questions

Do my clients need an account?

No. They open the link in a browser. With Ask me on, they type a name and you let them in.

Is there a size limit?

Not for sharing. Files are streamed from your Mac, so the folder can be as large as your disk, with up to 10,000 items in one folder.
